UX Design & Research, Airbnb
Rebecca Sinclair leads UX research at Airbnb to inform the creation of a radically human-centered experience.
Beyond informing design decisions about the Airbnb experience, Rebecca creates programs that empower empathy and creativity. Installations around the office tell stories about users and their journeys. Quarterly design classes introduce non-designers to seeing the world like a designer, and make design approachable. Empathy exercises connect employees closely with the Airbnb community.
Rebecca’s interest in design began through the work of Jane Jacobs. Reading The Death and Life of Great American Cities showed Rebecca that her desire to understand people and improve their lives could be channeled into design. Prior to Airbnb, Rebecca worked at IDEO and Microsoft. She graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Sociology.
